The Incredible Six Flags Trip

Welcome graphic

... Where a deranged idea imagined in gym class becomes a reality.

Our Mission

We (Steph and Lauren), along with others we have spoken to, have always been interested in going on a really fun outing with some others our age, basically as a non-school afiliated field trip. We never really brought the idea to light, though. Organizing the whole thing just seemed to be too difficult.

Well, we finally decided, what the heck, we'll see if there's any interest in doing a thing like going to Six Flags. Well, the responses were astounding in numbers, and there seems to be some real enthusiasm, so I guess we'll keep this going.

There is no guarantee that this trip will actually happen, but it seems that, for such a farfetched idea, the outlook is actually really good.

Please continue to check this site for updates regarding the trip. We may post dates, times, prices, and other newsworthy... news on here.

Also, we would like to make a note that this trip is NOT in affilitation with the West Band, West High School, or any other organization for that matter. This is just our own event that we have been thinking about doing for some time. It is for band and non-band members alike, as well as families of those students involved. If it gets to the point where you have to choose between this and the band trip, please go to the band event - we are not looking to compete.

Organization News

The dates we are looking at right now are June 3 (Saturday), June 4 (Sunday), June 10 (Saturday), and June 11 (Sunday). We understand not everybody will be available on all of these days, so we will try to pick the most popular day. The second most requested will be our rain date (If the most popular is June 11th, our rain date will automatically be June 10 due to our ability to only forecast so far, or to travel back in time).

There will be a meeting held after school sometime either late next week (week of 6/14) or early the following week (6/22). This meeting will be mandatory!  In order to organize an event like this, we really need to have everyone in the same place at one time. If you absolutely cannot go, contact either Steph or Lauren and we will fill you in on the details. The meeting will likely be from 2:45 to 3-ish (possibly a little later). We will likely hold it in the cafeteria, if we are permitted to.

Please return the sheets you recieve to the meeting, as we need an accurate count of who's going and how they are getting there in order to plan expenses and transportation.

We are looking for chaperones who would be willing to carpool at least two to three children other than their own child (but not to scare any potential victims away - if you can only take one other kid, let us know anyway). If you have a van that can carry four or more, great - the more, the merrier! Drivers we are looking for include parents or other guardians (most desirable), older siblings, or students going with their licenses. Please note that for youth groups, there is one complimentary chaperone ticket for every fifteen tickets purchased. If carpooling fails, we could charter a bus - we have looked into this - but it is costly, and we would prefer not to.
